The bottom of the container (with a design pressure of 0.6 Mpa) is equipped with two connections. As the entire device consists of numerous containers and pipes, the space is limited; therefore, it is not convenient to install connections that lead straight downward for bolt attachment. When manufacturing the container, it was considered useful to add an elbow that leads to the outside of the support leg, thereby facilitating bolt installation, maintenance, and disassembly. Several standards were consulted, but no relevant provisions were found. I would like to ask if such an modification is acceptable, and whether any standard describes permission for this approach

Yeah, adding elbows does indeed make it easier to connect the bolts. With the accumulation of dirt inside the tank over time – such as waxy sludge carried by gases – the elbows are prone to getting clogged

There are two considerations: first, the owner’s requirements – as long as the revised drawings are acceptable to the owner, that’s fine; second, the design calculations – as long as the calculations are correct, that’s sufficient.
