In the standards GBT 25026/25027 for glass-lined reaction vessels, the diameter of the thermometer socket increases as the volume of the reaction vessel increases. Why is this? Do thermometers for reactors of different volumes come in different sizes?
As the size of the reactor vessel increases, its length generally also increases. In this way, the diameter is increased to overcome the shaking during stirring.
The larger the reactor, the greater the torque exerted on the thermometer at the same rotation speed; therefore, it’s necessary to thicken the thermometer sleeve.
