At the site, I saw the lubricant tank area, where all the lubricant pumps were located inside an enclosure, next to the storage tanks. I was puzzled: is there any regulatory basis for this layout?
In the old plants, the pumps are located next to the storage tanks; sometimes even two tanks share one pump. Moreover, there are no hoses or expansion joints installed in the pipeline from the tank outlet to the pump inlet to prevent settlement. The workshop I was in before was the same

Article 5.1.14 of the \"Code for Design of Oil Depots\" (GB 50074-2014) stipulates that the layout of pump stations for flammable and combustible liquids in tank areas shall comply with the following requirements: 1 Pump stations for Class A, B, and C A liquids shall be located outside the fire dike of vertical ground-mounted tanks; 2 Class B liquid pumps, bottom oil extraction pumps, horizontal tank transfer pumps, and pumps for oil quality testing in tanks can be located within the same fire dike as the tanks when they are installed outdoors ; 3 When flammable and combustible liquid pumping stations are built in shed form or outdoors, there are no restrictions on the distance between them and storage tanks; as for the distance from other buildings, structures, or facilities, it shall be determined based on the outer edge of the pump, in accordance with Table 5.1.3 of these specifications regarding the distance between flammable and combustible liquid pumping stations and other buildings, structures, or facilities.
