I. Background and Applications: During the initial planning phase of our company’s construction, the steam pressure available from the plant’s steam network was insufficient, at only 0.6–0.65 Mpa, which did not meet the requirements of our production processes (which actually require saturated steam at 1.2–1.3 Mpa). As a result, natural gas boilers were installed to replace the steam from the network as the main source of steam for the ALC production line. However, with the continuous rise in natural gas prices and an ongoing trend of further increases, our company urgently needs to find a cheaper energy source to replace boiler-generated steam. After conducting various investigations and research over a period of time, it was found that dual-power steam screw compressors available on the market can effectively address the issue of insufficient steam pressure in the network. By using such equipment, it is possible to increase the steam pressure in the network, thereby meeting the requirements of our production processes. This equipment is the subject of analysis in this feasibility study report. II. Objective: By increasing the pressure of the steam in the pipeline network (from 0.6–0.65 Mpa to 1.2–1.3 Mpa), it is possible to meet the production requirements of our company, reduce the energy consumption costs associated with ALC products, and enhance their competitiveness in the market. III. Basic requirements for this equipment: · It must be able to maintain a stable pressure level of the steam in the pipeline system, in order to meet the needs of continuous production. · The steam produced should be saturated steam, to meet the requirements of the ALC production process. · The equipment must be stable enough for long-term operation, in order to meet the design capacity requirements of our company’s production lines. · Using this equipment should not result in any additional energy consumption. · It should not require any extra labor force. · The use of this equipment must comply with local regulatory requirements. · The safety performance of the equipment must be ensured. · The installation and setup of the equipment should have as little impact as possible on daily production. IV. Objectives · Significantly reduce the energy costs associated with ALC products. · Ensure stability in the production process. · Reduce reliance on regulatory requirements. · Lower labor costs
