Diameter change in the inlet and outlet pipelines of the centrifugal pump

Experts: Can the inlet and outlet pipelines of the centrifugal pump use a reducer to change from 10 inches to 2 inches? Are there any requirements for the variable-diameter series? Does having more than 4 stages with varying diameters affect the operation of a centrifugal pump? Thank you
It’s not necessary; just increase the inlet pipeline by two stages. Or small-diameter inlet pipeline diameter x2
Changing from 10 inches to 2 inches allows it to be matched with 2-inch pumps and flow rates. It won’t work according to the requirements for a 10-inch design
