Focus on key technical bottlenecks such as the efficient extraction of phosphate rocks, the advanced purification of wet-process phosphoric acid, and the high-value utilization of phosphogypsum; increase research and development in phosphate-based new energy materials, overcome the \"bottleneck\" technologies, and enhance competitiveness. On the other hand, we must deepen the green transformation and foster a “ecological foundation” for sustainable development. Implement policies for the sustainable exploitation of phosphate mines, promote comprehensive utilization technologies to improve the three efficiency indicators in mining operations; advance the treatment and utilization of phosphogypsum and accelerate the industrialization of related technologies; foster industrial integration to establish a circular economy model. At the same time, it is also necessary to optimize the industrial ecosystem and establish a \"win-win framework\" for coordinated development. That is, to boost industrial concentration by leveraging existing resources and foster a tier of high-quality enterprises; to strengthen regional and international cooperation in order to expand sources of phosphate rock resources and access to markets for high-end products. Zeng Jiaqi, deputy general manager of Yun Tianhua Group Co., Ltd., believes that with the rapid development of new energy materials, phosphorus resources are quickly emerging as a “strategic mineral” for the global energy transition. Achieving the green and sustainable development of phosphorus resources has thus become a key issue that the entire industry must proactively address. “We will accelerate the intelligent and green upgrading of phosphate rock mining and processing, promote the hierarchical recovery and utilization of associated resources such as fluorine and silicon, and focus on the research and development of next-generation materials such as high-density lithium iron phosphate and lithium manganese iron phosphate, in order to speed up the strategic shift from ‘phosphorus chemicals’ to ‘phosphorus-based energy materials’. ”Zeng Jiaqi said. “With the rapid development of the battery materials industry, the demand for industrial phosphoric acid has increased significantly. The cost of wet-process purified industrial phosphoric acid is higher than that of thermally processed industrial phosphoric acid; a combination of wet and thermal processes will be the long-term development trend for industrial phosphoric acid. In the future, the key to reducing costs and improving efficiency in the wet-process industrial production of phosphoric acid lies in the utilization of phosphogypsum. By facilitating the sulfur cycle and the efficient use of calcium in phosphogypsum, the cost of purified acid can be lowered. For thermal-process phosphoric acid, the focus should be on enhancing its quality; by applying the latest technologies, it is possible to maximize the recovery of the heat generated during the reaction, thereby reducing energy consumption in production. ”Professor Mei Yi, director of the Key Laboratory of Energy Saving and New Materials in Phosphorus Chemistry at Kunming University of Science and Technology and Yunnan Province, provided an outlook on the development of industrial phosphoric acid.
