For atmospheric pressure storage tanks, with both local and remote level gauges – which one should be chosen? A regular pressure transmitter or? ?
It mainly depends on your medium and the required precision. Under normal circumstances, a contactless radar level gauge is chosen, with accuracy available at the metering (trade) level and the control level. This is a conventional and reliable choice. Pressure transmitters or differential pressure transmitters have relatively lower measurement accuracy, as changes in the density of the medium can cause measurement errors. There is also a non-contact level gauge that is attached to the top, bottom, and sides of the tank; it is said to work on ultrasonic principles. I have never used it, so its accuracy and stability are unknown.

It is recommended to use a magnetostrictive level gauge, which involves installing a non-contact magnetostrictive element outside the magnetic flip plate
The magnetic flap level gauge comes with a transmitter output for local display; however, the signal transmitted over distance has lower accuracy.
