I have a question – I need some advice. There’s something I’d like to ask: are flange pieces also divided into male and female types? For example, on a male flange, is there supposed to be a small protrusion? For example, for the female flange, is there supposed to be a small recess? ,,, Are the gaskets for the flanges placed in the recesses? Thank you~~~~`~~~~. .
That’s right! Flange seal face type FMF: These flanges are mainly used for medium and high pressure applications
The original poster is right; everything has its yin and yang aspect, and flanges are no exception
It seems that surfaces with protrusions and recesses are generally called RJ flange surfaces, while flat surfaces are called RF
There are RF, RJ, FM, M, and so on
RJ is a ring-type connection surface, and metal gaskets are used. MFM is a male-female flange; what is commonly referred to as a male and female fitting is this type. RF is convex, while FF is flat. All of the above are in the form of cover sheets.

MFM male and female rough surface seals are also available
The flanges for FF/RF/RJ are all the same, with no distinction between male and female
You’re talking about male and female flanges: lol
