Is it based only on the thickness of the insulation layer? If the insulation is 230mm, does that mean the base also needs to be 230mm?
It depends on what the purpose of the two supports on the boiler itself is. If the temperature at a single point needs to be transmitted to two systems, such as one for monitoring and one for control, then a dual-channel device is required. If dual branches are intended for redundancy, assuming that one node fails while another can still be used, our experience shows that this assumption does not hold. In actual operation, when a point fails, in 95% of cases it is because the end of the probe rod has aged, worn out, or become damaged. The other one must have been damaged as well; it’s a single unit, with a thicker wire diameter for the internal armor material and thicker walls, which gives it a longer lifespan.
