The on-site process requirements specify that the maximum flow rate to be measured is 10 t/h, and the medium in question is crude gasoline. The existing vortex flow meter has a full-scale capacity of 38 t/h; if it is to be adjusted to handle 10 t/h, what parameters need to be changed? Will the accuracy remain satisfactory after such adjustments?
Was this vortex flow meter originally designed for measuring in such a location? Has the medium changed? If it’s just a modification, that’s no problem; modify the system as well.
The measurement of a vortex flow meter is related to the flow velocity, not to the range of measurement. The most important parameter is the flow coefficient, which must be calibrated to determine.
It mainly depends on what the lower flow limit of the flow meter is; only then can it be determined whether a change is possible
As long as the minimum flow rate is not less than 5% of the range, there should be no problem, and no parameters need to be changed

Will it be compatible with the flow rate of the current medium after the modification? I have a question I can’t figure out: when the measurement range is reduced, does the flow rate remain unchanged? If it doesn’t change, then there’s no point in changing the measurement range. And if it does change, how can we be sure that the flow rate after the change is accurate?
One cannot change it on their own; calibration is required to do so.
It needs to be changed a lot, and it might not even work.
Changing the range means changing the instrument’s output? If only the output needs to be changed, just make that adjustment; the DCS or PLC also needs to be modified accordingly.
