I have a question for everyone: can a metal rotor flow meter serve as a check valve? When the pressure in my gas supply pipeline is lower than that in the main pipeline, can the flow meter close to prevent the gas from flowing back from the main pipeline to the gas supply equipment?

When the flow rate is below the minimum allowable level, it may provide some backflow prevention effect, but a check valve is still the better choice, as it results in less leakage at least.
No manufacturer is willing to design or customize it in this way, and check valves aren’t expensive
The principle is fine, but it can’t be used that way; a check valve isn’t expensive either. The flow meter is for measuring the main flow rate, while the check valve is used for preventing backflow
If it has a check valve function, I’m afraid that over time, the low flow rate during forward flow might not be enough to push the float over; and if some dirt gets stuck there, things will get even more complicated. In the owner’s factory, is it really that expensive, time-consuming, and troublesome to install a check valve on the pipeline?
Perhaps that factory really thinks that installing check valves is expensive; these days, when companies issue tenders, even if the supplier provides them free of charge without incurring any cost, the client still considers it expensive.
