For the convenience of construction, we would like to install the emergency shut-off valve after the flexible metal hose of the storage tank (as shown in the figure below), that is, the sequence at the storage tank outlet would be the Sorgen valve – metal hose – emergency shut-off valve. Is this feasible? Does the specification allow it?
I think it should be placed at the front.
You have a root valve too; why not place it next to the root valve? Is there no space for installation?
It’s better to place it in front of the flexible metal hose.
Metal hoses are prone to leakage; place it in front of the metal hose

Looking at your second diagram, it seems to be in the order of root valve – metal hose – emergency shut-off valve – manual valve as well, right? Is this also okay?

One reason is insufficient space (the layout of the site before renovation is shown in the attached diagram), and the other is for construction safety. If the emergency shut-off valve is installed after the hose, it is possible to physically disconnect the metal hose from the tank before carrying out work; in that case, there is no need to deal with the fluid in the section from the root valve to the tank.
It is recommended to install a fuse-type emergency valve for the storage tank; when the ambient temperature reaches a certain level or when the fire reaches a specific temperature, there is a fuse ring inside this emergency shut-off valve, and once that fuse ring melts, the valve closes automatically – no electric/pneumatic actuator is required to operate this valve. The fuse connected to the valve body’s chain link blows, causing the valve to close automatically, thereby providing safety and fire protection. The valve can also be manually closed when repairing the tank piping.
Sinopec has clear requirements regarding the location of the emergency shut-off valves for liquefied hydrocarbon spheres; no other fittings or valves shall be installed between the emergency shut-off valve and the sphere’s outlet, aside from the connecting pipes.
