To measure the pressure in steam pipes, can a pressure transmitter be installed quickly? In the case of a short installation, how can it be ensured that the pressure transformer is below the pressure sampling point? Also, should I choose a condensation tank or a condensation coil?
It depends on how high the steam temperature is. Ordinary medium and low-pressure steam can be isolated using a condensation elbow or a condensation tank. However, for high-temperature steam, a reliable isolation tank should be installed.
First, short installation periods… try to avoid them; if they are too short, high-temperature steam can scorch the diaphragm, leading to rapid aging of the material; Secondly, since short installation is not recommended, there is no need to verify that the pressure transformer is below the pressure sampling point (which should be the pressure sensor, i.e., the diaphragm head). If one wants to confirm this, can’t it be done by visual inspection? Finally, condensation rings are generally used in pressure gauges, as the pressure transducer is heavy and requires wiring; short connections are not suitable for fixation with brackets. Although they can be used, it is not recommended, and they must absolutely not be used in high-temperature environments. Of course, condensation tanks can be used in all cases; steam is a standard requirement, but it’s expensive… Smaller factories have to find ways to make do, as price is what really matters.
We have basically eliminated condensation filling and condensation bends. Using thick-walled tubes makes it possible to bear weight. The pipe bends, and it’s fine even with steam at 700 degrees. However, it is best to place the transmitter slightly away from or offset from the pipeline, so that heat radiation does not affect it due to poor insulation. The advantage of this approach is that there is no need for anti-freezing measures, nor is heat tracing via electricity or steam required. The cost is also low, and the construction is simple – so isn’t the total cost lower? Have I become easier too?
The use of isolation tanks in accordance with standards ensures the accuracy of measurements.
Mm. Condensation tank. . . . . It has basically become history in our company.
