How can analog input points be added to PCS7 through software configuration? Are there any relevant materials available? Also, how can communication with a DCS be established?

Check whether the existing module is sufficient; if it is, simply activate the unused channels, enable diagnostics (which are usually available), assign image partitions, and use hardware download via CIR – after that it can be used in the program. If the existing module is not enough and additional modules are needed, consider on which slave station to add them. This also involves hardware configuration: adding modules, setting up configurations, defining signal types, adjusting diagnostic switches, specifying image partitions, and determining whether redundancy is required. Once all these aspects have been taken into account, save and compile the settings, then download them – after that they can be used in the program!
