One manufacturer specifies a range of 0–1000 ppm with a resolution of 2 ppm, while another offers a range of 0–2000 ppm with a resolution of 1 ppm. The buyer asked how big the difference is between 1 ppm and 2 ppm... I wasn’t sure how to explain it at first :) Could anyone help me think of the simplest way to explain this to her?

The difference between 1 ppm and 2 ppm is quite obvious – it’s just 1 ppm; the latter is 1 ppm more than the former. Don’t your purchasing staff know how to read?
