Firstly, this term should be surge. When the flow rate increases again, forward flow resumes, and these alternating periods of forward and reverse flow can cause severe damage to the equipment. Therefore, protective measures such as surge valves are used in the surge zone to prevent surge from damaging the machinery

Didn’t understand? Isn’t it normal for a compressor to surge occasionally? Do we need an anti-suffocation line, and what’s the purpose of it?
I think the same way, but the equipment manufacturers say that testing at the outlet yields the same results as testing at the inlet. Personally, I wonder if testing at the outlet might reveal a situation where surge has already occurred yet the flow rate hasn’t changed.
If it goes into surge, it can easily damage the compressor, right?
