Could the logic controller of a SIS system be a DCS?

Clause 6.2.2 of the SH3018 standards states that \"the programmable electronic system of the SIS’s logical controller can be a PLC, DCS, or some other specialized system.\" According to other sources, it is generally considered that a safety-oriented PLC is used as the logical controller for SIS. It’s only this specification that says DCS is acceptable; I don’t quite understand it.
All functions can be implemented; in the future these boundaries will become increasingly blurred. It depends on where they are used – different places have different names for them.
