As the title suggests, what is the difference between the design standards and specifications for the instrumentation and control field regarding chemical industry standards and petroleum industry standards? Is it possible to balance both?
The SH standard refers to the petrochemical industry standards (focusing mainly on refining units), while HG is the former Ministry of Chemical Industry standards (for organic chemical processing units). Currently, the SH standards are being continuously updated, gradually replacing the HG standards ; In terms of authority, national standards are higher than other standards, but industry and professional standards are more practical.
If there is a national standard, it shall be adopted; if no such standard exists, the SH standard or HG standard shall be applied.
I’d like to know what the main differences between HG and SH are? For example, when dealing with a project that involves chemicals and petrochemicals, how are the design specifications determined? !
It is recommended to refer to design specifications such as SH/T 3005-2016 and HG/T-20507-2014, download them, and compare them for study*; The essential difference is not significant; petrochemicals require stricter conditions than chemical industries. I prefer to look at things in a complementary way; when facing similar problems, I choose the option with stricter requirements, as it is beneficial for safe operation.
