A few days ago, the company’s radar level gauge kept showing full scale after material was discharged from the tank and then fed back in; it only showed normal readings after the power was cut off and then restarted. Sometimes, fluctuations in the readings also occurred. We have already replaced several main processors, but the same problem persists. The level gauge was taken apart for calibration; the actual tank height is 2800 mm, and the length of the cable is also 2800 mm. The first time the level gauge was replaced with the actual tank height and cable, all the measurements at several points were normal; however, the same problem persisted after installation. A colleague suggested increasing the tank height and cable length to 2900 mm, but this did not resolve the issue. I hope someone who is familiar with radar level gauges can offer some advice; batch processing is required for this level measurement task, and precise readings are necessary.

Radar and ultrasonic systems can experience loss of echoes; in such cases, a fault signal is generated. Some radars recover from this fault automatically, while others require power interruption and restart – there is nothing that can be done about this. Check that menu in Cologne to see if there is an option for fault output; if so, try setting it to 4mA for fault output
I’ve never used Cologne; I’ve been using Rosemont instead, and it’s relatively more stable
When I buy something from you, is it a refurbished product or smuggled goods? Or is it the operating conditions that cause crystals to form at the interface of the radar cable, resulting in false signals from the radar? Our company uses domestic radar units, around 100 in total, and we’ve never encountered this issue; the stability of the radar units is quite good.
