To measure the thickness of steel plates during the production process, it is necessary to pass them through a thickness gauge after production in order to achieve real-time measurement. In production lines, non-contact laser thickness measurement is generally used. Non-contact online laser thickness gauges combine laser light sources, photoelectric detection systems, and computer-based industrial control technologies; they can be employed to measure the thickness, width, and shape of various materials in real time on production lines. They represent important equipment for quality control of products on industrial production lines in China. As a non-contact thickness measurement instrument, it has always been highly popular. Because its measurement is contactless, the readings are accurate and the measurement is convenient; it is widely used, especially for object positioning and thickness measurement. However, conventional online thickness gauges have limitations: when measuring high-temperature objects, the strong thermal radiation from their surfaces causes problems such as inaccurate readings or slow responses, especially with extremely high-temperature objects, like those with surface temperatures above 1000 degrees. The high-temperature online thickness gauge was developed to address this issue; by employing a new design concept, it minimizes the impact of thermal radiation, thereby enabling accurate measurement of high-temperature objects. Non-contact laser thickness gauges are suitable for the online measurement and monitoring of the thickness of various types of cold- and hot-rolled strip steel, steel plates, aluminum plates, aluminum foil, copper plates, copper foil, converter linings, wood, food, precision components, as well as various rubber sheets, rubber films, rubber tires, plastic sheets, fabrics, and other transparent and opaque flexible materials.
