From the perspective of product development trends, induction single-phase meters still account for a certain proportion among users in rural power grids, while smart meters have been widely adopted among users in urban power grids. According to the 2011 report on the development of the electrical measuring instruments industry, electronic electricity meters account for 85% of the market share. With the rapid development of high-tech technologies, especially electronic information technology, the advantages of single-three-phase intelligent, multi-rate, high-precision, and automatic meter reading products have become evident, and they have gradually become the mainstream in the development of electricity meters. From 2009 to 2020, power grid companies advanced the construction of smart grids in three phases: planning and piloting, comprehensive construction, and leadership and improvement.
