The ABB 2040 analyzer shows normal zero and range calibration for trace CO2; however, it reads a negative value when sample gas is introduced. The zero point was recalibrated using nitrogen with 5 nines in it, but the reading remained negative. Is it feasible to add alkaline asbestos in the zero-point gas line to absorb CO2 and conduct a ventilation verification?

Either the instrument is faulty, or your nitrogen with 5 nines isn’t reliable. . . There’s no unit for measuring it either; what a fool. . . Maybe you should use nitrogen with 50 nines. . . Gagaga, the appraisal is complete
A negative value indicates that the sampled portion contains water or moisture; check both aspects
Is infrared used for measuring trace CO2 at the outlet of air separation molecular sieves? After calibrating the infrared analyzer, the analysis of the sample gas yielded a negative value; I can only explain this by saying that the CO2 content in the sample gas is lower than that in the standard gas, and thus a negative value will definitely be displayed when analyzing samples after calibration. Solution: Introduce a standard gas; if the instrument responds, it indicates that there is no issue with its measurement trend. Then introduce high-purity nitrogen to adjust the zero point.
