Dear experts, I would like to know whether the positioner used for Samson control valves is unique. The positioners used in our factory have no LEDs nor operation buttons; when a 4–20 MA signal is applied, the control valve does not respond； When air is directly supplied to the cylinder, the control valve responds. I would like to know which part of the positioner is causing this issue?
I’m not sure which model you’re referring to; our factory has two types. There should be control buttons once the cover is removed. Make sure there’s power supply first before considering the locator

Generally, Samson control valves are equipped with Samson positioners that have buttons. In your case, first check whether the input signal is reaching the positioner, and then verify if there is air at the output side. The absence of air may be due to a blocked constant-throttle orifice in the positioner or problems with the nozzle damper; if the valve has a solenoid valve, check whether it is receiving power. . .
It is recommended that the original poster first check the nameplate on the locator, identify its model before discussing it; making irresponsible assumptions – assuming that the locator in question is an old-fashioned mechanical one without a screen or buttons – is not appropriate. Only the zero knob and gain adjustment
There is no single standard for the combination of valves and positioners; it depends on commercial considerations； Anything can be changed!
