All 5 S-type thermocouples on the waste acid furnace were damaged after heating – their protective sleeves broke. Does anyone know what caused this problem? Help analyze it

Visually inspecting the corundum tube shows that it becomes brittle and breaks after exposure to water, as well as after rapid heating and cooling. For oven heating, it is recommended to use K-type oven thermocouples; they are cheaper, and it doesn’t hurt much if they get damaged.
