Can rotameters be used in high-temperature and high-pressure environments? Process medium is steam, with an operating pressure of 13 MPaG and an operating temperature of 360°C. Are there any recommended manufacturers?
Rotary flow meters are generally not suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure environments. However, there are some special materials and designs of rotameters available on the market that can be used in high-temperature and high-pressure environments. It is recommended to contact manufacturers that specialize in producing flow meters to find out if they have products that can meet the requirements of this application. .
For this temperature and pressure, I think a differential pressure flow meter is suitable
The temperature is too high, causing demagnetization due to high heat; materials that can withstand high temperatures are needed for the float. Why use a rotameter? Is the caliber very small? I agree with using a differential pressure type; when the steam pressure is high, a welded nozzle flow meter can be considered, as it is more wear-resistant than ordinary orifice plates, and welding eliminates the risk of leaks.
This type uses high temperature and high pressure differential; generally, welded nozzles or long-neck welded nozzles are used. To save money, welded orifice plates can be employed, and flange connections should be avoided if possible.
