Has anyone used an asphalt mass flow meter? I’d appreciate some recommendations. What are the key points to keep in mind when choosing a mass flow meter? Thank you!
The challenge with asphalt mass flow meters lies in on-site heat tracing and insulation.
Choose the high-temperature phase separation type. For the trade settlement and shipping area, choose foreign brands. Domestic instruments can be selected for the plant area. Proper insulation for heat tracing should be ensured; insulating cement can be used to fill the space between the hot wire and the flow meter.
Based on my experience, I would suggest choosing a straight-tube mass flow meter, as they are less prone to accumulating dirt and are easier to clean. I recommend the E+H 80I model; if budget is a concern, the 80F model with a slightly curved tube is a good option. I’m sure the process temperature must be quite high, as the pipes are equipped with heating. Then, it is required to ensure good insulation, and another very important requirement is to install bypass steam pipes. If it is used for loading, steam is required to clean the flow meter pipeline after each load; if it is used in the process, the pipeline needs to be purged with steam after it is stopped each time
Be sure to choose the HK-CMF insulated Coriolis mass flow meter, one with an insulation jacket, so as to prevent solidification and blockage.
