I work in the equipment industry, and today I suddenly received an email from a client asking us to provide pressure gauges with storage capabilities. I was completely confused – my understanding of pressure gauges is limited to traditional local pressure gauges or pressure transmitters with remote transmission functions; I’ve never heard of ones with storage capabilities before. It was also specified that the storage should be done using CF cards, which left me utterly baffled. I’ve searched around on Baidu; it seems there are digital pressure gauges available that come with a storage function, and the storage interface is USB. I wonder if by connecting a CF card reader to such a gauge, it would be possible to use a CF card for storage Also, does this storage function mean that the values displayed on the gauge at regular intervals, say every minute, are stored within the gauge itself? And then it can be connected to a computer or some other device via a USB port? In that case, would using a USB flash drive suffice, eliminating the need for those CF cards? Finally, are there any reliable brands for this type of product available domestically and internationally? I’m really an expert in this area; if it’s not suitable, you can send me a private message. Storage-type digital pressure gauges – there are quite a lot of these these days. . . My brother developed it 18 years ago. . . Storage-type digital pressure gauges that use CF cards are rare; there might not even be any. . . CF cards are too large and not suitable for use in small instruments. . . The data stored in the instrument can be read into a computer via a serial port or USB port. Products developed earlier all used serial ports. USB ports appeared later on.
What USB drive should be used? A CF card reader would definitely meet the customer’s requirements.
Data is stored using chips, and the storage interval can be set by the user. Data retrieval must be done using a computer, PLC, RTU, or other programmable devices. . . Read the data into your computer; you can save it on a USB drive or CF card – it’s up to you.
This is useful; it’s called an intelligent storage digital pressure gauge. You can look into it, but it’s rarely used in DCS systems or PLCs
Some industries have such special requirements; for example, the metallurgy industry sometimes uses them. Set up an additional paperless/paper recorder outside the DCS, and choose USB or CF card for data transfer. Just add a recorder outside the transmitter.
Thank you all, teachers. It’s basically decided that we’ll use this type of digital pressure gauge. But which companies in China are good at manufacturing them? Imported ones are too expensive for us to afford :(
