In recent days, I’ve noticed that the thermometer on the reactor keeps fluctuating up and down. I checked the wiring and found no problems, and replacing the heat transfer oil didn’t help either. I really don’t know where the problem lies. There is toluene in the reactor, and the temperature is generally between 15 and 115. I need an expert’s advice on this.,

First, you need to look at the curve to see how it fluctuates; sharp rises and falls are usually due to issues such as wiring problems, temperature changes, safety barriers, or surges. If it rises or falls slowly, it is mostly a process issue. If the cause cannot be identified, the substitution method can be used; most thermometers come with a sleeve.

Isn’t there a local bimetallic thermometer on site? If not, the remote transmitter can be temporarily removed and a local one installed so that the process engineers can observe the fluctuations on-site.
