The system has the following measurement points: AI (4~20mA): 18 points, A0 (4~20mA for controlling regulating valves): 4 points, of which 2 of these regulating valves are under ratio control; DI: 2 points, DO: 2 points. I would like to ask everyone whether a DCS system or a PLC system should be used for this control system, and what are the respective prices? Is it acceptable to use an S7-200 PLC? Thank you!
PLC definitely works, but things like PID control are rather troublesome
But with too few points, using a set of DCS doesn’t seem cost-effective
If you don’t mind the hassle, use a PLC, or a small DCS.
With such few points, DCS is definitely not a good deal, unless it’s used as part of something else as a side benefit. The S7-200 is theoretically suitable for use with PLCs, but the 200 series has been discontinued; nowadays it’s the 1200 series or the 200Smart series that are used.
The Zhongkong JX300 or Hilscher will work; there are few buttons needed

Just buy a few digital displays with control functions, and there’s no need to consider PLCs or DCS.
For new projects, consider using a PLC; otherwise, opt for adding components or modifying the existing system. Of course, the digital display control mentioned above is also feasible!
For 18 AIs, 1200 is convenient; it’s also easy to connect the host computer to the PLC
