With this issue, many locators experience some problems. Emerson’s AMS reads and recognizes the data from the locator directly into the DCS via the HART protocol. Previously, with Fisher locators, it was necessary to modify the parameters of those locators in AMS in order for them to function properly. Today, I heard that with the new Siemens locators, a 4-20MA signal is generated after recognition, but no 0-100% range is displayed. When there’s no other option, turn off channel HART.
