First, you need to determine whether this flow meter has temperature and pressure compensation; if not, the temperature and pressure values indicated are manually set values. If you perform temperature and pressure compensation using DCS, you don’t need to worry about the temperature and pressure displayed there, as all you need is the flow rate under operating conditions.
The temperature displayed on the turbine flowmeter used to measure natural gas is, of course, the temperature of the natural gas itself; it is measured for the purpose of performing temperature and pressure compensation calculations. In turbine flowmeters, the flow sensor can only measure the flow rate under the current operating conditions; the flow rate under standard conditions must be calculated through temperature and pressure compensation. As for reason No. 4, “RongshuOfDream” has already explained it clearly: the volume that changes is not fixed, while mass remains constant; the flow rate under standard conditions is a way of representing this mass.
