In existing acrylic acid plants, the cracking and decomposition process involves several cracking reactors; the temperature in these reactors does not exceed 250°C, the medium is composed of heavy components, and steam is present in large amounts there, which makes solid formation likely. I’ve tried many types of level gauges, such as rod-type radar gauges and horn-type radar gauges, but none of them work well. I would be extremely grateful if experienced colleagues could recommend a suitable type of level gauge for use. Thank you very much
I don’t know what a cracking reactor is, but my brother has measured the liquid level in molten salt at 800°C. I have two questions for you: 1. What is the gas phase pressure? 2. After the liquid material evaporates due to heating and then cools down, will it solidify into a liquid or a solid?

One type is a nuclear level gauge; if there is no solid material at the bottom of the tank, an external-mounted level gauge can also be tried
The tank height is within 6 meters and it has a mixer; in fact, it’s sufficient to measure the liquid level in the upper 2 meters. I have not used nuclear level gauges, so I’m not quite familiar with their working principle. The medium in question consists of heavy components, is viscous, and tends to form solids at around 200°C
Nuclear level gauges can completely solve this problem, while other level gauges require optimization.
