I have a Ca2+ standard solution at 1000 ug/ml, as well as deionized water. I now want to prepare one sample of a 2 ppm standard solution and one sample of a 5 ppm standard solution, converting them into calcium carbonate standard solutions for calibrating the hardness of water. In other words, I need 2 ppm and 5 ppm calcium carbonate standard solutions. I would appreciate any advice from those who know more about this; I’m in urgent need of help. Thank you!

The hardness value is determined by measuring the amount of calcium and magnesium, which is then converted into a value corresponding to calcium carbonate; it is not necessary to prepare a calcium carbonate standard solution as a reference sample. You don’t understand analytical chemistry, do you? How can it still be used as a water quality analysis instrument? It’s made a joke of itself many times already; hurry up and tell the story.

I didn’t express myself clearly; what I meant was to prepare standard solutions with calcium ion concentrations of 2 ppm and 5 ppm, and then convert those values into those corresponding to calcium carbonate
