Regarding insulation and heat tracing of pressure transmitters

For the designed air-nitrogen station, there are two pressure transmitters located outside; the local average minimum temperature is -15°C, with extreme values reaching -29°C. I initially planned to build only a protection box, but now I’m unsure whether it’s necessary to insulate the pressure pipes or provide heating for them
It seems unnecessary to provide heat tracing or insulation for pressure transmitters that measure air or nitrogen pressure, since the pipelines themselves don’t have any insulation
This post was last edited by budaoweng123 on 2018-7-17 at 11:42. Looking at the sample manual of your transmitter, there is an environmental temperature limit specified. If your field transmitter has an LCD screen, -29 is close to its minimum value of -30.
Under normal circumstances, no insulation is used. Are there any special cases, such as in areas in the Northeast with temperatures of -40°C?
Are the air pipelines there insulated and heated? Then will you insulate and heat the instruments as well? That’s correct.
It doesn’t cost much to install heat tracing and insulation either
