What are the differences between ASME B16.47B and ASME B16.47A?
Series A specifies the sizes of flanges for general purposes, while Series B specifies the sizes of small flanges; typically, the diameter of the bolt center circle in Series B is smaller than that in Series A. The outer diameters of the connections at both ends of the flanges in these two series are also different; these two types of flanges cannot be interchanged. Users should be aware that for some flanged valves, equipment connected by bolts between the flanges may be compatible only with flanges from one specific series.
