I have just started working with Yokogawa DCS, learning by using virtual machines; the version used is the older Centum VP R4.03. I’m facing a problem: when configuring a single-loop PID control system, the PID block and the PIO block cannot be connected to each other. There are no issues with the hardware configuration, and the addresses are entered correctly; yet the input and output terminals of the PID block cannot be connected to those of the PIO block. What could be the reason? Is it related to authorization? I hope experts can give me some advice. Thank you!
I haven’t used it; let’s try creating an intermediate variable
Could it be the tag number? Try installing it first
It is recommended to purchase some video materials from Yokogawa on Taobao; the explanations in them are very detailed

For the last one, %%FV201, use the left and right sides instead of the middle one. Give it a try; everything here is labeled as FIC, which seems odd. There’s FI flow display, FIC flow display control, and FV flow valve

The Yokogawa connection lines have arrows indicating the start point/intermediate point (where the data is split)/end point; the arrows show the direction in which data is transmitted. The first click marks the start point (single click), the second click marks the intermediate point (single click), and so on, with the final click (double click) marking the end point. The start/end order is incorrect, so connection is not possible (for example, click %%FV201 first, then double-click the “x” next to PID to connect to the OUT terminal). Any place marked with “x” can be connected. If the terminal or data name in the PID diagram is incorrect, right-click to bring up the options for making changes.
I think you’re right. I suggest the original poster first read the tutorials carefully before conducting experiments, and if there are any issues, share the error messages – that will make it easier to determine where the problem lies
