Today, one of our company’s pneumatic valves started leaking internally. When we opened it to check the valve core, we found that the ball valve element had indeed corroded. What’s interesting, though, is that the ball valve element was hollow. After communicating with the manufacturer, they said that the valve cores of ball valves weighing less than 16 kilograms are hollow. I wonder if any expert can explain whether such a standard exists Is it still a quality issue? Is it still the issue of cutting corners?
Two methods: 1. Verify whether it is accurate based on the standards at the time of ordering. 2. Have them provide **standards to prove it**. But the people who placed the order at that time should have known, right?
The valve ball is corroded; it is necessary to determine whether there was an error in the material selection during design or whether the manufacturer failed to use the appropriate materials. The valve core is generally solid; it’s not clear whether it can be hollow depending on the pressure rating.

I never even thought there was such a thing as a hollow sphere; I need to pay attention to that when signing the technical agreement next time. :L

I’ve never encountered this; normally it should be solid
