What exactly is the counter-circulation in UL6108 shown in Figure 4? I study craftsmanship and don’t know much about instruments; thank you for your guidance. This is the interlock diagram of the chiller unit in our facility; when interlocks are in effect, it sometimes takes a few minutes before it can be started. What are those ESS, LP, MOS, CRT things as well?
The reason why one has to wait a few minutes before restarting the compressor after it has been shut down is that, due to the throttle valve, the refrigerant in the pipeline cannot return to the compressor immediately; this process takes about 3 to 5 minutes. If the compressor is started right away, with refrigerant still remaining in the pipeline, the compressor will generate a high starting current due to electromagnetic forces, which causes the compressor to heat up significantly, and the compressor’s protection circuit will automatically cut off the power supply. In the worst case, the strong current could damage the compressor’s windings. As for what ESS, LP, MOS, and CRT stand for, bro, the diagram you’re showing isn’t clear enough to understand
Hello, thank you for your answer! Do you mean that the sudden surge in current is caused by high outlet pressure? But sometimes the interlock can be reset and started immediately – is this related to its UL6108 UNTIRECYCLE feature? Could you help me check the 720S latency in Figure 4? LP, ESS, and CRT are types of signals that come in or go out; I’m not sure what their abbreviations mean. ESS is likely related to electricity, while LP might refer to a bus or something similar; I don’t understand it.
