I work the night shift; I add hydrochloric acid to adjust the acidity. The level gauge of the hydrochloric acid storage tank shows intervals in the middle. I feel this is not normal. What caused it? How to adjust? Take a look at the picture specifically!

Magnetic flap level gauges need to be inspected and cleaned regularly. The float might be stuck; clean it out and it should work again. When using hydrochloric acid, be sure to take protective measures.
This level gauge is a bit silly. . . The belly even rolls its eyes.
The hygiene at the site is excellent; the equipment is very clean! For the white ones, just use a spare float to attract them down!
In such a situation, the first thing to do is to ask the production staff whether the liquid level appears at the red mark on the upper side. If that’s the case, it can be assumed that the white mark in the middle indicates an error, and the level can be adjusted using a magnetic rod. If the actual position of the liquid level is uncertain, the best approach is to close the valve for the liquid phase of the level gauge, use a bucket to catch the liquid, open the drain valve to empty the hydrochloric acid inside the measuring tube, then close the drain valve again and reopen the valve for the liquid phase. This should normalize the liquid level. Remember to open the valve for the liquid phase slowly – you can open it a little, wait for a while, and then open it further
