I’m looking for a gas flow meter; Air parameters for measurement: the maximum allowable pressure drop is 200 Pa, the maximum flow rate is 40 m3/h, and the flow velocity is 5 m/s. Could someone please advise on what type of gas flow meter would be suitable for measuring such process parameters?
Common gas flow meters include vortex flow meters, orifice plate flow meters, and thermal gas flow meters. I’m not sure what type of gas you need to measure, nor whether it is corrosive; in addition, the choice of flow meter depends on the size of the pipeline. Balance flow meters have low pressure loss, and their measurement accuracy is higher than that of orifice plates
The pressure under the operating conditions of the gas itself is also low, not exceeding 1 kPa. Can such conditions be measured using pressure difference detection?
Such a low pressure, use a thermal mass flow meter
We purchased them before; it was said that they measure by generating heat through the friction of fluid flow. We used a batch of them, but were unable to obtain any measurement data, as the pressure was low, the pressure difference was low, and the flow rate was low, which made it difficult to choose a suitable flow meter
The thermal type can whip one by one. . . There are Tibetan mastiff whips, Venturi tubes, and Pitot tubes used to measure very low flow rates – really useful stuff. Come to me and buy a flow differential pressure gauge; I’ll teach you the skills needed for accurate measurements. Gagaga
Even at very low pressure differences, the dermal tube can still be detected.
If the pipe diameter is too small, the pressure difference may not be sufficient.
Is a flow rate of 5 M/S considered low, or is the value you provided incorrect? With a flow rate of 0.05 M/S, it’s still possible to measure the mass of gas using thermal methods
I took a look; this technique seems to be used in university laboratories. I’d like to learn more about pitot tube flow meters
