Some time ago, there was a project involving 3 identical units, all equipped with the same hot water control valve set at 105 degrees Celsius and with a DN50 size. During the commissioning process, it was found that one of these units was experiencing surging. Upon inspection, the locator was found to be functioning properly; the only issue was a leak at the air supply inlet of the valve cover. After fixing the leak, the surging problem disappeared. However, after operating the unit for some time, surging occurred again in certain conditions. Adjusting the locator once more did not resolve the issue, so an identical unit was replaced. There was still surge phenomenon; after the last 3 units were turned on, all 3 water valves experienced surge. The manufacturer’s inspections yielded no results, so the sensitivity of the regulators was reduced, which gave better results. There is still slight surge in a few locations, but it does not affect operation. What is the reason for this? Valves under other operating conditions do not exhibit this phenomenon
Excluding issues with the locator and other accessories, there must be a problem with the valve selection!
The elastic limit force, the compression position of the spring, and the air pressure at the diaphragm head are in equilibrium up to a certain point; just adjust the position of the valve stem and give it a try (make it longer or shorter).

What brand of control valve is being used? If resonance occurs as described by the manufacturer, could there be an issue with the valve core structure? Isn’t it still a valve problem? Of course, the spring force of the adjustment spring mentioned above can also be tested!
Okay, it doesn’t surge at low and high flow rates; it’s at an intermediate level
Can the valve be taken apart after it has been removed from service to check whether there are any blockages or sealing issues inside the actuator?
