How to set the maximum and minimum distances for the VEGA level gauge? ? Help! !

The silo is a conical silo with a height of 0–6.4 meters, and the level gauge has a length of 5.7 meters. So how should the maximum and minimum distances be set? I set it to a maximum of 0.1 meters and a minimum of 5.7 meters; I’m not sure if that’s correct... This gauge has a dead zone of 150 mm at the upper end and 350 mm at the lower end... Another issue is that, even when no material is being fed in, the reading occasionally jumps from over 2 meters to over 5 meters, and the material in question are small aluminum blocks!
Why are there dead zones on both ends? Damn it, what a crappy instrument. Stop setting it up – it’s too dirty. Get rid of it as soon as possible and throw it in the latrine so that maggots can crawl on it. .
This dead zone is specified in the manual...
