Do the valves designed in a SIS system require SIL certification? Can it be used just by having a SIL certification?
It is necessary to conduct a HAZOP (or other types of analysis) to determine the safety level of the circuit, in order to decide whether the valves in that circuit require a SIL certification and what level of SIL is needed.

The organizations that provide SIL certification for instruments (including control valves) are diverse; there are many such certification bodies, some from Germany, France, Italy, and also from within the country. It is necessary to pay attention to the authority, influence, effectiveness, and standardization of SIL certification bodies. However, many of the valves used by SIS lack SIS certification.
I don’t think it’s necessary; as long as the entire circuit meets the SIL2 standard, it’s fine – it’s not required that every individual instrument also meet the SIL2 standard
Control valves require SIL certification
Based on the assessment results, determine what SIL level is required for your needs, and then verify whether the design meets the specified standard by examining the PFD failure probabilities of the sensing elements, logic controllers, and control valves. Regular testing and maintenance should be carried out in accordance with the SRS thereafter!
First, based on the SIL rating determined for your SIF, identify the appropriate model of instruments from qualified manufacturers. Check whether the SIL certificate for that model from the manufacturer meets your required SIL level; generally, an instrument does not meet only one SIL level – it is necessary to consider the conditions specified in the certificate, such as the ability to meet SIL2 with HFT=0； SIL3, HFT=1. It is also necessary to check whether the certification body is legitimate and qualified. For example, products certified by certification bodies in the United States must have the ANSI mark. Otherwise, such a certificate has no value.
