Interlocking problem

The company requires that flammable and toxic gas alarms be interlocked with the nearby axial flow fans. I was wondering if there are any relevant regulations or standards for this, and how does your organization handle it?

In our facility, we simply add a digital display unit with upper and lower interlock contacts, using the dry contacts to enable electrical personnel to interlock the axial flow fans.
