The Fisher Positioner DVC6000 series is the most common series of Fisher positioners under Emerson. It is a HART® communication instrument used to convert a 2-wire 4‑20 mA control signal into a pneumatic output for supply to the actuator. It can also be easily modified to replace the existing analog positioners on most Fisher and non-Fisher pneumatic actuators. When we purchase the Fisher locator DVC6000, it usually needs to be calibrated and installed. However, some of our users or those in the field still do not know how to do this calibration. Today, the technical staff from Shaanxi HuiBo Electromechanical will explain in detail how to calibrate the Fisher locator DVC6000 using a handheld controller. Open the 275/375 handheld controller, select the HART Application from the Main Menu, and then locate the locator under the On-line option. Enter Setup&Diag sequentially — Detailed Setup — Mode — Instrument Mode (or go directly there using the shortcut key on the controller) — Warning! When the Service mode is selected and sent to the instrument, the valve may move (WARNING! Valve may move when in Service mode is sent to the instrument.). Press OK to enter Instrument Mode; select \"Out of service\" and then press ENTER. After the message \"Instrument mode is already out of service!\" appears, return to the main interface and then navigate to Setup&Diag – Basic Setup – Auto setup – Setup Wizard: 1. Select the pressure unit you want to use (Pressure units (psi)) and then press ENTER ; 2. Enter the maximum supply pressure (Max Supply Press(psi)) and then press ENTER ; 3. After selecting the actuator manufacturer, press ENTER; if the above brands are not available, choose OTHER ; 4. For single-acting actuators with springs, select 3; for double-acting actuators with springs, select 4; for double-acting actuators without springs, select 2 ; 5. Select ROTARY. Next, if the valve is at zero signal and it should be open, choose 2; if it should be closed, choose 1. Then select 1 again, and after that select YES to automatically determine the valve’s orientation and gain value ; 6. Choose whether there is a volume booster or quick release valve (Is a Volume Booster or Quick Release Present?) ; 7. Information indicating the actuator is being sent to the instrument. Please wait. “Actuator information is being sent to the instrument. Please wait”…” ; 8. Choose whether to use the factory default settings: Use Factory defaults for setup? (Yes is recommended for initial setup). Enter after selecting Yes ; 9. A message indicates that the factory default settings are being sent to the instrument; please wait. “Factory default settings are being sent to the instrument. Please wait.”…” ; 10、Continue automatic setting selection for amplifier adjustment “To continue Auto Setup, select Relay Adjust”” ; 11. Do you wish to adjust the amplifier now? (Do you wish to run Relay Adjustment Calibration now?) Choose Yes for double-acting and No for single-acting, then press ENTER ; 12. Select Travel Calibration (To continue, select Auto Calib Travel.) and press OK ; 13. Do you want to perform automatic trajectory calibration now? (Do you wish to run Auto Travel Calib now? Select YES if initial setup) Choose Yes and then press ENTER ; 14. Warning! Calibration will cause a sudden change in the instrument’s output; press OK ; 15. Selection of crossover adjustment (Select Crossover Adjust): Manual/Last Value/Default. Under normal circumstances, select Default and then press ENTER; Manual is chosen only if the precision obtained with the default setting is insufficient ; 16. Next, the automatic travel calibration process begins; once completed, the instrument mode will return to In service!
