The relationship between fire protection categories A, B, C, and D and explosion-proof areas

There is no fixed correspondence, as they are based on different standards. In fire safety classification, categories A, B, C, D, and E are used to divide buildings into five groups according to the fire risk associated with their production processes and the fire risk of the items stored there. The purpose of this is to determine factors such as a building’s fire resistance rating, number of floors, floor area, fire separation measures, safety evacuation procedures, and smoke control systems, from the perspective of preventing fires in buildings. The classification of explosion-proof areas is based on the \"Code for Design of Electrical Installations in Explosive Atmospheres.\" The purpose of this classification is to ensure that, when electrical equipment is used in different explosion-proof areas, equipment with an appropriate explosion-proof rating is selected according to the category of that area, thereby preventing and reducing factors that could lead to explosions.
