Why, when putting a magnetic flap level gauge into use, is it necessary to open the upper gas-phase valve assembly first and then the liquid-phase valve assembly?
There is no pressure inside the level gauge; if the liquid phase valve is opened first, the high pressure may lift the float instantly, causing damage to it
Generally, there is a spring beneath the magnetic flap to prevent damage to the float; therefore, it is necessary to open the pressure-taking valve first
1. After isolating the level gauge, it is usually necessary to drain the liquid and release pressure, in order to verify whether the flip plate has returned to its zero position; this is the standard method for confirmation. At this point, the pressure inside the level gauge is at atmospheric pressure; 2. When putting it into use, if the lower isolation valve is opened first, the gas on the upper side of the level gauge is compressed by the pressure and liquid column inside the container being measured ; 3. The level gauge usually measures only a portion of the liquid level in the container; when the isolation valve on the upper side of the level gauge is opened, the gas on the upper side is expelled due to the pressure difference, which causes the float to rise rapidly. This leads to impact against the top of the flap, and in severe cases, it can even deflate the float ; 4. Springs are generally present on the upper and lower sides of the flap, providing a certain degree of stop protection; however, the flap level gauge must be used in accordance with the specified sequence.
