Regarding the selection of a level gauge for a buffer tank containing liquid wax, with a height of 2 meters and a temperature of 300 degrees, what type of remote transmission level gauge would be suitable?
I’m not sure if there are components such as agitators inside the tank; I think a radar will work, or dual flanges as well, but attention should be paid to temperature when making the selection
A double-flange differential pressure transmitter filled with high-temperature silicone oil will do.
Choose double flanges for stable density; pay attention to the temperature resistance of silicone oil. When installing, make sure to provide proper insulation; this device seems to solidify when the temperature drops. Radar level gauges are likely to present difficulties, as heat dissipation from the gauge head could be an issue. I’ll check whether radio frequency admittance might work as a solution
Now there are radars that can withstand high temperatures. I talked to a radar manufacturer before, and they said that such radars need to be custom-made, but the price is reasonable and their performance is good
If it is non-volatile, a bell-mouth radar level gauge can be used; if it does not crystallize, a double-flange pressure transmitter can be employed
What are the chemical components of liquid wax? Does it solidify due to cooling and compacting? If not, apply pressure and measure the temperature drop – it’s as simple as drawing an arc.
