I would like to ask the experienced colleagues: ordinary pressure gauges are equipped with condensation coils when used with media at temperatures above 60 degrees. Since diaphragm pressure gauges are installed using flanges, is it necessary to add a condensation coil when the temperature of the media is above 60 degrees? If it’s to be installed, how should it be connected, since diaphragm pressure gauges use flange connections?

Diaphragm pressure gauges are generally used for media with high viscosity, tendency to condense, or corrosive properties. Therefore, in applications where a condensation ring can be used, a diaphragm pressure gauge is generally not required. If it is not possible to sit directly on the device, the pressure gauge can be mounted on a bracket, and the piping can then be arranged according to the requirements of the pressure transmitter.
Diaphragm pressure gauges can measure temperatures of three to four hundred degrees without any problem.
It should be added that the diaphragm and the condensation ring are two separate components; the former is used to prevent the medium from entering the measurement tube and causing corrosion, blockages, or other issues that could affect measurements, while the condensation ring serves merely to buffer and lower the temperature. The diaphragm connection is also threaded.
Diaphragm pressure gauges do come with threaded connections; if it is truly necessary and the medium temperature exceeds 200°C, provided that the material is not highly corrosive nor viscous, it is also possible to use a condensation ring in combination with a threaded diaphragm pressure gauge. But I think, as the guy on the 3rd floor said, in situations where a diaphragm pressure gauge can be used, there’s actually no need to add a condensation ring; it’s sufficient to just use the gauge as is. It’s well known that national standards require the use of a cooling device when the temperature exceeds 60°C for pressure gauges, but in cases of high viscosity and high corrosivity, it’s difficult to implement such measures effectively. Don’t be too picky; as long as it works, that’s fine……
