The E+H 83 series mass flow meters are used for loading measurements; the medium being measured is fuel oil. Both loading stations have identical configurations: one pump and one pipeline are used to deliver the fuel oil for loading purposes. On the same day, both stations carried out loading operations almost simultaneously. For one of the stations, the measured volume per truck load was twice the actual value. Two tank trucks began loading at the same time and finished almost simultaneously as well; the time taken was practically the same, and the measured values were also nearly identical. In reality, however, the station in question delivered only half of the intended amount of fuel. We suspect that in the flow meter with half the normal quantity installed, one of the measuring tubes is blocked. Does that make sense? Does a blockage in one measuring tube not affect the measurement? Won’t the measured value also be reduced by half?

In the case of a new installation, it’s necessary to check how much flow rate corresponds to one unit of frequency for both the flow meter and the loading system
It’s an old device that has been in use for many years; it has always worked properly without any changes to its settings
I have never encountered such a situation; if one pipe is blocked, in theory, within the same amount of time, only half as much fluid can pass through it.
